1977

The independent cooperatives of Highview, Flugstad, Webster City, Stonega, and Kamrar banded together to form United Cooperative. Al Jorth was appointed as the first General Manager. The first central office was located at 1440 Superior Street in Webster City.

   
 

1985

United Cooperative purchased Central Iowa Stock Yards in an effort to expand grain
storage. The interior gating was removed and the building was retrofitted to hold over one
million bushels of pick and roll corn. The Stock Yard location was sold later to Tasler pallet.

   
 

1992

United Cooperative acquired the Grace Fertilizer plant located at 2000 West Second
Street in Webster City. This plant became the main agronomy plant for United, and still operates
as such to this day.

   
 

1994

The board of directors from Stratford Grain & Supply and United began exploring a
possible acquisition. The acquisition was completed later that year and the Stratford location and
members joined United.

   
 

2006

United Cooperative entered into a condo storage agreement with its members to build
expanded grain storage capacity at its Kamrar location.

   
 

2016

The board of director approved to expand grain operations at its Highview location. This
expansion included over one million bushels in grain storage and improved dumping speed.

   
 

2021

The board of directors approved an expansion of grain handling capacity at our Stonega
location. This expansion included an addition of over 700,000-bushel storage and a new 4,500
bushel per hour dryer.
